Text of Psalm 34
I lift my voice to give thanks to the Lord, and I call out to Him in joy.
When I am afraid, I seek refuge in His loving presence.
The Lord hears my cry and rescues me from every danger.
I praise the Lord at all times; His praise shall always be in my mouth.
My soul celebrates the goodness of the Lord, and the humble are lifted high.
The righteous gather to see His mighty works and rejoice.
The Lord’s angels surround those who trust in Him, and He delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good—blessed is the person who takes refuge in Him.
Reverence the Lord, you His saints; those who fear Him will lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will lack no good thing.
Come, children, listen and learn the fear of the Lord.
Who desires life, loves abundant days, and finds joy?
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
Turn away from evil, seek peace, and pursue harmony.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, attentive to their cries.
But the Lord opposes the wicked to turn away their plans.
When the righteous cry out, the Lord hears and rescues them from their distress.
The Lord is close to those crushed in spirit; He saves those who are humbled.
Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them all.
He guards all their bones and keeps them from harm.
Evil will bring death to the wicked, but the righteous find refuge in God's mercy.
The Lord redeems His servants; none who trust in Him will be condemned.
