Text of Psalm 102
Lord, I cry out to You in my distress; my soul feels crushed under the weight of pain.
My days fade away like smoke, my bones grow weary from sorrow.
I am like a lonely owl in the desert, feeling abandoned and far from comfort.
My heart is heavy within me, and I cry out day and night to You, my God.
My bones suffer in silence, longing for relief, yet I am overwhelmed by my own despair.
I am like a desert tree, dried out and longing for the dawn.
Yet, I remember Your kindness, Lord, and call upon Your everlasting mercy.
The enemy mocks my suffering; my foes taunt my distress.
But I trust in Your mercy, and I cling to hope in Your promises.
Do not hide Your face from me; listen to my prayer as I pour out my heart.
Your years endure through all generations; Your love stretches beyond time.
Rise up, Lord, and have mercy upon me; I am weary and in need of Your strength.
You will restore Zion, and Your glory will shine upon Jerusalem.
When the generations to come see Your works, they will praise You.
For You are a refuge for the oppressed, a source of comfort in times of sorrow.
The nation will fear Your name, and all the earth will see Your salvation.
You hear the cry of the afflicted and answer with compassion.
Let this be remembered in the future, so that people will pray to You.
For You look down from Your holy height; You see us in our humble state.
You listen to the prayers of those in distress, and You save them from despair.
Let every generation proclaim Your glory, and every tongue declare Your faithfulness.
